Apache Stronghold invites us each to light the fire on March 30 and announce our struggle for the sacred. Our fires will warn evil, the monetizing evil that threatens sacred Oak Flat, that we are here for the life that God gives, not the money and power that copper ostensibly provides.

Oak Flat, Arizona, has been a sacred place for Indigenous groups for at least a thousand years, and it has been holy for me even in the short time I have been camped here.
